Becoming a Volunteer...

If you live in Worcestershire and are aged between 16 & 25, why not consider becoming a Youthline volunteer?

You will be given a full training over twelve, two-and-a-half hour sessions leading to a Youthline qualification. This will enable you to operate the lines during a 3.5 hour shift which we will ask you to do once a week for a minimum period of 6 months. You will also be able to get involved in other areas of the project like the Radio and the Media Group

Volunteering could open up all sorts of opportunities for you and will definitely broaden your experience. As part of the package, Youthline staff will assist you to reach your maximum potential within the project and help you use it in an ongoing and effective way.

A Youthliner's Experience

"5 years ago, my friend dragged me along to the training for a project called Youthcomm Youthline. I didn't want to go-from what she had said about it, it sounded really boring and like lots of hard work for nothing. She told me there would be free pens, so I agreed to keep her company for a few weeks until she got settled in. So I went along, and I realised I was WRONG!

Youthline is run by young people for young people, literally. The team of volunteers are friendly, supportive helpful and insane (in a good way). Since I have been volunteering at Youthline, not only have I gained experience of most problems affecting young people and how to deal with them, but my communication skills and empowerment levels have improved. I've met hundreds of cool people, and can safely say I've helped tons of people as well. Plus, through skills I developed from Youthline, and the support from the team, I managed to overcome and face many of the issues and problems in my own life, as well as those of others.

Further more because of my experience there, I want to become a youth worker. Youthline is an amazing opportunity. Plus they have free pens, bonus!!"
