Welcome To The Links Department

The role of the Links Department is to spend hours sifting through the murky depths of the internet to pick out and select sites that we think you might like, might find useful or might help you to while away the hours.

What this isn't, however, is a complete list of every site you'll ever need. That would be impossible, not to mention pointless since that's what they invented Search Engines for (and we've got a few of them!). What this section will hopefully do is help you to start your research on a particular topic or spark off some inspiration if you can't find any.

So, whether you're looking for information about Homelessness or simply looking for that illusive picture of a Sloth, you should find something useful and something pointless in this department. Just select a category from the list to the right (>>) and get browsing!

Japanese Smileys(Emoticons)

We've all used Smilies or Emoticons at some time or other. In fact if you're a regular on the Youthcomm Community you'll be quite familiar with them. Did you know that other countries have a completely different set? This site illustrates the difference between western and Japanese smilies (it's amazing how much better the Japanese ones are! Plus they're the right way round.)

SwarmSketch

'Collective sketching of the collective consciousness'. Each week the site chooses a popular Search Engine keyword and invites all visitors to contribute a line to a collective drawing based on that word.
